AAHK extends relief program for aviation industry

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has extended its relief program for the aviation industry by two months in view of the prolonged impact on the aviation industry from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Various fee waiver or concession policies supporting the industry will continue from June to July 2022. This package will include full waiver of parking fees for inactive passenger aircraft and air bridge fees and reduced fees landing passenger planes. It will also include reduced fees for airside handling, maintenance and airside vehicle issues as well as a rental reduction for terminal tenants covering lounges and offices. At the same time, AAHK will waive fees for licensees of terminals, including ancillary passenger services, commercial service counters and cross-border transportation operators. Finally, the airport authority will grant concessions on charges for aviation support services such as in-flight refueling, aircraft maintenance and in-flight catering services.

The ongoing relief package also includes rent relief for retail and restaurant tenants. Most of the businesses and restaurants in the terminal have suspended their activities and their rentals have been cancelled. Base rent is also waived for those that remain open to provide essential services. Relief measures will be adjusted to respond to changing circumstances accordingly.
