Vector, aerospace industry, India: the common denominator of Seco/Warwick

Sundram Fasteners Limited is the Indian fastener manufacturer where SECO/WARWICK will supply a VECTOR® vacuum oven to be part of the highest quality aviation screw production process.

This is the second time that the two companies have cooperated. The partner already operates a SECO/WARWICK oven, working reliably in the branch of the company producing components for the automotive industry. Proven partner and technology meet for the second time.

Bindings of extraordinary quality

The vacuum furnace ordered is a compact Vector device that meets the requirements of the Indian partner in the field of heat treatment of fasteners for use in the aerospace industry. Thanks to its proven design, the furnace will allow efficient heat treatment of large loads of fabricated aerospace bolts.

“It’s a proven design with a complex pumping system. A round heating chamber with a very good temperature distribution as well as an efficient and ergonomic pumping system supplemented in addition by a diffusion pump, will allow the system to reach a high working vacuum of 10-4. Thanks to an efficient cooling system based on a gas blower, the furnace provides a maximum quenching pressure of up to 15 bar abs. This is our flagship design, proven in the aviation and automotive industries for many years. The selection of this technology is therefore not surprising as it guarantees high quality production of finished components, which is essential in this high-trust industry,” said Maciej Korecki. , Vice-president of the VACUUM OVEN SEGMENT of the SECO/WARWICK group

The Vector sous vide oven is available in several sizes and many configurations. This product is most often chosen by manufacturers in the aviation industry. Sundram Fasteners Limited chose the Vector sous vide oven for its reliable and proven design, as well as its many international recommendations. Similar devices work in more than 70 countries around the world.

A feature of the equipment ordered is a highly efficient diffusion pump based system. The device performs high vacuum processes and allows partial pressure control.

“This is not the first project we have implemented with this partner. Previously, we supplied a device that serves the automotive segment to the Indian subsidiary. The current order confirms that another demanding customer in the industry aerospace is satisfied with the cooperation with SECO./WARWICK. We want our ovens, and especially the flagship product – Vector, to be the first choice device for manufacturers in the aerospace industry. We were able to implement this assumption consistently for many years,” summarizes Manoranjan Parta, SECO / Managing Director of WARWICK India.

A serious player in the aeronautics industry with SECO/WARWICK

Sundram Fasteners Limited is part of the TVS Group. Founded in 1911, it has grown rapidly, expanding its portfolio and becoming the largest manufacturer of automotive components in India. The group currently operates in several sectors with total sales of over $8.5 billion.

“The new vacuum furnace will help us heat treat larger loads of aviation screws. Its working space greatly increases the processing capacity of our hardening plant. We have known SECO/WARWICK for many years and we know that it is a partner you can trust,” commented Mr. Atul Kumar Agrawal, Vice President of Sundram Fasteners Limited and

“Vector will improve and increase the throughput of the tempering, quenching and annealing processes, and improve the economics of the process, taking into account energy savings and graphite chamber efficiency. Its compactness, economy and intuitive operation are the great advantages of this product,” added Mr. Sivaraman Arjunan Senior Manager.

Sundram Fasteners Limited is a world leader in the manufacture of precision components for the automotive, energy (wind turbines) and aviation industries.
